Pros and Cons of Living in Vegas Year-Round

What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas: but what if you decide to stay there too?  This massive strip of fun and entertainment may be one of the best places to vacation, but it’s quickly becoming a popular place to live and enjoy year-round.

Whether you’re considering moving to Vegas or trying to see if it’s even feasible, these are the pros and cons of living in the city of lights.

Pro: Endless Entertainment

You’ll never run out of things to do while you live in Las Vegas.  Not only because there’s so much entertainment already, but because exhibits and shows open and close every month, allowing for a revolving door of nonstop fun and excitement.  This city also gets some of the best concerts and best long-term shows- with greats like Elvis, Britney Spears, and Madonna playing here for years on end.  Once you’ve experienced the chance to see your favorites live this often- you won’t want to go anywhere else!

Con: Expensive Living

Although Vegas is gorgeous: it’s also incredibly expensive. Las Vegas apartments for rent are usually on the smaller side and can go above $1,000 for even a studio apartment.  This means that if you’re running on a tight budget, this might not be the best city for you.  This is especially true if you plan on partying and going out a lot while you live here since that can quickly rack up expenses and make it difficult to afford.

Pro: Best Food Available

There’s nowhere to eat quite like Vegas!  From the huge number of Michelin star restaurants to the large assortment of new eateries and buffets that pop up every day, you’ll feel like you’re living in a foodie’s paradise!  Although the food can get pricy, every bite is worth the cost!

Con: Massive Crowds

Unfortunately, Las Vegas is incredibly packed.  Although Las Vegas has only 600,000 year-round residents: over 42 million people visit this city every year.  There was a dip in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid-19, but the numbers are expected to boost back up in no time.  If you don’t like crowds and you’d rather avoid massive amounts of strangers pouring into your town every weekend, Vegas might not be the spot for you.

Pro and Con: Everyone Will Want to Visit

If you struggle to get the family to visit you when you want them to, it can be a major driving force if you live in Las Vegas.  Everyone wants to come and see the city of lights and enjoy all of the fun and views you’ll find while you’re here.  On the other hand, if you’d rather be left alone and don’t want a new guest every month, this can be a negative.  Of course, you could always just tell people you moved to Reno instead!

Every Day Can Be a Party

Although you should still take time to work and enjoy daily life, Vegas gives you the chance to enjoy the most fun parts of life year-round.  Get to know the scene here, and you’ll never want to leave!
